What does intuitive mean? It used to be seen as the fortune reader in a tent at the carnival, set in a mystical atmosphere. Many tools were used to used to bring those intuitive insights into awareness, ranging from tarot and crystal balls to clairvoyant or psychic readings.
Times have changed, slowly but surely. With the invention of the printed book, and the shift from illiterate to educated, we have opened our eyes to many thoughts beyond our day-to-day perceptions. Intuition became an interesting but esoteric ability of women, while men were given outlet for their own intuitive insights through business. Today we find yet another welcome shift, with men and women alike given many opportunities to explore and find their own intuitive meaning.
When we have an image of an event, or know of an outcome without benefit of physical evidence, what do we do with this information? Intuition does not always may sense. There must be some interpretation, and there is nothing more valuable than the steps that lead up to any event. Intuition goes deeper than the surface though, and many intuitive insights contain feelings and thoughts as well.
The act of finding meaning has been a powerful driving force for mankind since the beginning of time. There is a sense of satisfaction felt when we connect our actions to meaning. The great philosophers discussed our nature within their small groups, yet today we continue to read the teaching of Plato, Socrates, and Augustine.
Science holds for us the evidence we need to show that what is seen is only a small portion of what exists. Studies in quantum physics shows us the connection we have in our thoughts, with the evidence limited only by the methods we use to measure. We can look into a drop of water and find the universe contained within. Can we look into a soul and see yet another universe?
The intuitive meaning of any of our life experiences is a combination of both event and interpretation. Much of our intuitive awareness is internal, and often overlooked in our awareness. There are times when intuitive perceptions are taken global, shared with the world around us. Those insights give more credibility to intuitive meaning. Regardless of its form or scope, there is one common result, and that is the expansion of our thought and awareness.
